Our June Meeting was held at the beautiful Proteus Air Services, a local Santa Monica Flight School that recently moved and renovated their space. We were the first community event in their new classroom, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to add some ‘lady luck’ to their new facilities.

With a full house and quorum of members, our meeting kicked off with elections for the 2018-2019 calendar year. Although we just had elections when the chapter was established, six months ago, we needed to align our election cycle with the rest of the organization. All current board members were re-elected, unopposed.

Our Tech Talk was Ken Goble, Regional Sales Director for Cirrus Aircraft, who gave a history of Cirrus and advice on purchasing a plane (either new or used). It was very helpful as many people in the room hope to find themselves in a position to purchase soon. Ladies took copious notes and had several educated questions.

The rest of the business meeting was conducted with discussion on upcoming Fly-Ins, Tech Talks, Air marking the Compass Rose, Chapter Dues and Fundraising. Congratulations were offered to Benedikta Unter Ecker (Secretary), Janie Thomas (Treasurer) for passing Commercial and CFI knowledge tests, as well as our Chair, Kate Scott for earning her Private Pilot certificate!
