Our February meeting was attended by lucky number 13 with prospective new pilots/members and two CFIs based at Santa Monica. The Barker Hangar conference room was decorated with red and pink hearts; snacks included cookies and chocolates.

We discussed membership, and talked about upcoming Kids in Planes event with the Santa Monica Airport Association later this month. We also scheduled our first Fly-In to Camarillo in March for Sunday the 24th!

Tammy Jackson, an Air Traffic Controller from SMO tower was our Tech Talk this month. She discussed new airport procedures at Santa Monica since the runway shortening, and answered questions about preferences in communicating with the Tower. Her experience is greatly valued and we look forward to communicating with her and all of the new trainees at SMO Tower.
