A hearing has been set for the Landmarks Commission to determine whether the Compass Rose at Santa Monica airport will be designated as a historical landmark.  The hearing will be held on September 9, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Santa Monica City Hall.  We have already begun to solicit support for that hearing by asking local supporters to attend a photo shoot in partnership with This Place Matters (National Trust for Historic Preservation) as well as calling for their attendance at the September 9, 2019 hearing.  As for those who are not local or who are unable to attend the hearing, we have requested letters or emails in support be sent to the Landmarks Commission.

In that vein, we would be most appreciative if you could find the time to send a letter or email in support to the Landmarks Commission.  A sample letter is attached and contains the relevant information.

We are beyond excited and hopeful for a successful outcome of this historic hearing.
