  1. I started flying the Palms to Pines Air Race in 1982 and received the trophy for best first time in the race.
    In 1983 I placed 3rd. In 1984-1986 I also have trophies for 7, 8 and 9th place.
I also flew the race in 1987-1989 and received trophies for those placements.
I lived on the airport at Cameron Park, Calif. at the time and flew a 1979 Cessna Cardinal.
It was great fun and I loved it! Unfortunately a broken neck from a highway accident ended my flying.

  2. Thanks, Mary! I’ll update the Winner’s table on this page with the correct spelling of your name (it looks like it’s misprinted a couple times).

  3. Hi. I just found an obituary for my great great Aunt Mabyl G. Bull. It states that she was the first secretary of the LA Chapter of the 99 Club and a friend of Amelia Earhart! This is amazing news so I got online to research – and here you are! I knew her as a little girl and had heard many stories, including her stint in Navel Intelligence 1918. We have a few photos of her as a young woman but not much. I was wondering if there is anything about her in your historical files? Or any way I can research further on my aunt’s time in your organization? Thank you for your time and consideration.

  4. Hello Ladies, 2006 I came in under Scenic Route, flew solo in my Maule, Julie Delany. I have an article about the race while I was the Chapter Chairman. If you’d like. Loved my time with the 99s.

    • Thanks, Julie! I’ve updated our table. Please send the article (webmaster@la99s.org), and I can upload it! Thanks,
